What does our proven design process look like with modern technology?

While we have time and time again spoken to our customers about our commitment to moving ahead with the ages, we stand by the fact that a pen and paper are the holy grail when it comes to designing our fires. Ever since this family-run companies’ creation, a key part of our production process has been the designing and sketching of the fire, which has now been transferred to a specific computer design technique. The internal parts of the fire, including the measurements, placement and accessories are much easier to plan out when using computerised measurement tools. The real magic happens, however, when our bespoke fires are drawn onto these specific measurements for our customer to check. This has become our proven successful design process, because while we agree than hand sketches are an incredible method, using the computer speeds up the process a great amount. We ensure that this does not mean our work is sloppy, however, by promising that we will not strike metal on our customers bespoke products, from canopies to fire baskets, until they have decided they are happy with their design.

These designs are combined with photographs of our customers homes, and sometimes input from design teams and installation officers. Consultations, site visits and more are a tried and tested method that we also use before we begin to create our open fires, to ensure that our customers bespoke product is specially designed to run as smooth as possible. This is to ensure our product is effective for the customer in every way, and that we continue to make open fires we are proud of. Our history influences all that we do here at our business, but it is important to recognise that sometimes there can be improvements to our historical methods, like sketching, that can still ensure the same level of quality. We think that the combined computerised methods that we have perfected are the perfect waypoint to create our wood burning fires, to the best of our ability.
