We were recently asked to provide an open fire solution for a customer who had purchased a beautifully renovated Cotswolds cottage. The property had come with a basic, plain stove in the inglenook, but the customer was looking for a real centrepiece to make a bold statement in the room, and still fit in with the traditional aesthetic of the house.

After an initial consultation, the customer decided to opt for a bespoke design by the expert team here at Camelot Real Fires. Based on the chosen materials and the customer’s direction, we came up with a stunning copper canopy option with large spit dog irons, along with our unique Thermovent system. This provided both a beautiful and unique centrepiece for the room, and a smoke-free, high-performance working fire to provide efficient heat.

The whole job took just 6 weeks from consultation to installation, including the design and bespoke build process. During the installation, it was discovered that the chimney was compromised and required lining – not usually something needed with the Thermovent system, but luckily because of their design, our fires will operate with just a 200mm flue liner. The customer was over the moon with their new open fire, and said “I’m delighted with the Inglenook fire and it’s had a lot of use”
