For more than 50 years, Camelot has specialised in harnessing the potential of fire and metal for the fireplaces in our clients homes — combining our unique knowledge of open fires with technical design expertise and highly skilled metalworking to create refined, premium canopies, fire grates & dog irons for the home fireplace and more recently outdoor spaces.
Our work is rooted in the intelligent use of heat, metal and form, shaped for both function and beauty. While our reputation was built in the UK, this approach has increasingly resonated with clients overseas, allowing us to extend our reach to international markets.
We have successfully delivered bespoke fire baskets to New York, Dubai and Norway, and canopies (or hoods) for fireplaces in Italy, Ireland and France. Whether for interior fireplaces or outdoor settings designed for warmth or social connection, every piece reflects the same disciplined design process and depth of material understanding.
International commissions naturally introduce additional considerations, but our long established approach has required only measured adaptation. Refined over decades, our process provides clarity and confidence — wherever in the world a project is located.
Distance and language can present challenges, yet through collaboration, precision and thoughtful use of technology, we have consistently built strong working relationships with our international clients.

PRODUCTS FOR INTERNATIONAL CLIENTS
As a specialist Design & Metalworks, we design and create bespoke pieces that centre on fire, heat and metal, created for open fires in both interior and outdoor environments. Successfully shipped internationally, our work includes:
- Fire baskets / fire grates (solid fuel, gas and electric)
- Canopies / Fire hoods (see regulatory notes below)
- Dog irons
- One off bespoke commissions
We are also preparing to launch a new Outdoor Living collection — including fire pits, chimineas and tables — designed for gathering and social spaces in the garden. Handmade in our Worcestershire workshop, each piece carries clear Camelot DNA and is particularly well suited to export overseas.
Due to the bespoke nature and additional complexity of international projects, all pricing is provided on an individual basis. UK website prices apply only to UK projects. Each quotation reflects the depth of design development, technical resolution and communication required to deliver a premium result internationally.
OUR PROCESS
Commissioning from another country requires trust, structure and clarity. Our proven process, refined over more than five decades, ensures confidence at every stage.
1. Discovery
Initial conversations via phone, video, email to understand your aspirations, intended use and practical requirements, with early budget guidance provided.
2. Scope & concept
Further discussions to establish how we can respond to your brief, including consideration of fire, heat management and material performance. Liaison with your nominated local installer may take place where appropriate. We do not advise on technical or regulatory matters outside the UK.
3. Quotation
A clear written proposal outlining our response, supported by example imagery where relevant, together with costs and stage payments.
4. Deposit / initial payment
Typically 25%, although in some cases a smaller initial payment is agreed to allow more detailed design development before costs are finalised.
5. Design development
2D CAD drawings and reference imagery are produced and refined through dialogue. Samples can be supplied where required, at agreed costs.
6. Signing off of your design
We only strike metal when you (and perhaps your installer) have signed off your design — a disciplined approach that has underpinned our work for 50 years.
7. Fabrication
Your piece is handcrafted in our Worcestershire workshop, where skilled specialists shape, form and forge metal with precision. Technical discussions with your installer may continue during this stage if needed.
8. Final inspection
Every piece is individually inspected prior to dispatch. Images can be shared for approval before shipping.
9. Balance payment
Once settled, shipping arrangements can be made.
10. Shipping
Handled by your appointed partners or ours, we have some experience with trusted international shipping providers.
11. Support
We provide advance guidance, confirmation measurements, installation notes and, where appropriate, supporting videos. While live or on site installation support is not always feasible across time zones, options can be explored.
12. This approach allows complex projects to progress smoothly, even across borders.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
Regulations
Some products — particularly canopies — may be subject to local fire or building regulations. While we can share experience based on UK standards, compliance rests with the client and their local professionals.
Post installation support
Support is provided remotely only; on site assistance is not available internationally.
Shipping
All international projects are quoted Ex Works (collection from our workshop). Shipping costs are additional. We may be able to assist with arranging this as we have some experience with agents from previous projects though we are very happy to work with your nominated shipping agent.
Taxes & Duties
All international projects are quoted excluding any import tax and duties. These will need to be paid and managed by you in conjunction with your chosen partners or our shipping agent.
